A Bauhaus Summer

"Bunt ist meine Lieblingsfarbe. / Colourful is my favourite colour."
• Walter Gropius

Bauhaus was never just an art school • it was a way of thinking, a new approach to how we shape the world around us. It embraced clean lines, geometric forms, and a belief that design should be both beautiful and functional. A Bauhaus Summer takes inspiration from this movement, translating its ideas into a collection of colourful lightweight knits designed for long sunny days.

Structured patterns & soft colours

The pieces in this collection echo the Bauhaus aesthetic: bold yet balanced, minimal yet full of character. Graphic patterns, subtle color contrasts, and architectural shapes come together in a way that feels harmonious.

The movement’s signature primary colors take on a softer summer palette, while its love of structure is reflected in crisp patterns and precise detailing.

Celebrating the Women of Bauhaus

Each knit is named after a pioneering woman of the Bauhaus, honoring the artists, designers, and thinkers who helped shape modern design but often remained in the background.

• Marianne Brandt, as head of the metal workshop, she broke barriers in a male-dominated field. Her creations, characterized by geometric purity and functionality, remain timeless examples of modern design.
• Martha Erps-Breuer experimented with texture and structure within textile design. Her work is a fusion of art, craft and everyday utility.
• Kitty van der Mijll Dekker introduced Bauhaus principles to the Netherlands. Her work seamlessly blended traditional weaving techniques with modernist aesthetics, resulting in textiles that were both functional and artistic.
• Lucia Moholy, an accomplished photographer, played a crucial role in documenting the Bauhaus movement.

Like their work, this collection is built on thoughtful design.

Natural comfort

Made from 100% organic cotton, each piece is breathable, soft, and easy to wear. Our knits are crafted to move with you, to be worn and lived in, just as the Bauhaus believed design should be.
